This light means that the oil level is too low. Pull over immediately, turn off the engine, wait 5 minutes, and then check the engine oil level. Add engine oil if the level is low. If the oil level is correct, but the oil level light stays on, you may have a faulty oil level sensor or low oil pressure.
To start the process get your watch ready and turn the ignition switch from "Off" to "On." Step 3 - Time Airbag Light. Once the airbag light comes on it will stay on for a total of seven seconds. Once it turns off, you will have a second to turn the ignition back to "Off." Step 4 - Turn Ignition "On" After 3 Seconds
on my MK3 my airbag light came on. The only 2 fixes I was able to find was take it to the Stealer and pay 100.00 for a reset, or hook it up to a Vag and clear the code. You need an actual vagcom (not the program and the cheap ebay cable), then on the airbag tab there is a reset option I think.
nine times out of ten it is the earth on the sensor try cleaning the conectors with a good switch cleaner and then take the battery off and then reconect the battery and this should solve the problem if not then it is the actual sensor at fault regards j.s autos. 27 people found this helpful. Yeah, that needs some more diagnostics at the dealer. VW had issues many years ago with the steering wheel clockspring that caused airbag errors, though I think that was sorted out. Could be something similar. Easy dealer fix if that is the case. R. Rob22Taos. 157 posts ยท Joined 2022.

If the diagnostic software doesn't show any airbag fault codes, but the light is on, it could be the cluster. Sometimes you can check this by rapping on the instrument cluster with your fist. If that causes the light to go on or off or flicker, you found your problem. If that's it, it's an easy fix.
